On the 16th of July 2024 my Constituency Team held their first post-election meeting with representatives of Fife Council's Housing Department, discussing a total of 32 active cases ranging from requests for repairs to delays in rehousing.

Unfortunately, due to a lack of housing, increased demand on the service and financial pressure, Fife is in the midst of a housing crisis. The Council are working hard to improve this situation, seeking to produce unique and innovative solutions to overcome the challenges being presented, however, there is no quick solution.

My team will continue to meet with the Council on a regular basis to discuss the concerns raised by Constituents and I will press on, using my position as the MP for North East Fife to call for greater funding and support for Local Authorities.

Fife Council is presently running a consultation to gather feedback on housing issues being experienced across North East Fife. The consultation will be running until the 21st of July 2024 and I strongly encourage my Constituents to take the time to share their feedback on the following link: Fife Councils North East Fife Areas Housing Issues
